Australia’s best power metal band Black Majesty returns with their sixth studio album titled ‘Cross Of Thorns’. ‘Faster, heavier yet melodic as ever’ the new album continues the band’s evolution of finely crafted melodic power metal anthems. Charismatic frontman John Cavaliere shines on the new album with emotive vocals that showcases the fine ‘timber’ in his voice on songs like Phoenix, Crossroads & Vlad The Impaler - not to mention on the cover version of the Gary Moore classic anthem ‘Out In The Fields’.
Cross Of Thorns is dedicated to Dirk Illing, the band’s long-time friend and artist of all five previous album covers (R.I.P.). Mixed by Roland Grapow (ex Helloween/Masterplan) the album sounds amazing. Big drums, bass and guitars are all evident on the new release.
Previous appearances at fests such as Wacken Open Air, Masters Of Rock, Screamfest and tour supports with the likes of Saxon, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall, Edguy and Dragonforce, Black Majesty will continue to build on their ever growing fan base with further touring, including some upcoming special acoustic shows in Europe to coincide with the release of the new album.

An unexpected clash of elements, several years in the making but assembled in just a short couple of months. In October of 2011 Björn Höglund (drummer of EASY ACTION and HOVEN DROVEN) made the call to Mats Karlsson (220 VOLT) and explained what he had in mind. For him, a dream team consisting of Mats, singer and childhood friend Michael Klemmé (MARMALADE SOULS) and bass player Lars Ericsson. Both with who Björn had played with since eighth grade. A carefully picked team of great players and established songwriters with the same background, musical taste and origin. The task: a quickly assembled album with a nod to the 70’s.
Tired of being tied up in several album projects, years in the making, Björn wanted to write and record quickly, just like many of his favorite albums were made in the 70’s , and the music had to fit the same idea. Within hours everyone was on board. At this time Michael and Mats had never even met. Stepping up to the challenge, the boys began writing in January. Out of some 16 songs written, recording began in April and eleven songs. The result; a modern sounding 70’s rock album with several nods to the all the bands that shaped Mats, Björn, Michael and Lars musically, without ripping off any of them. Well crafted songwriting in the hands of potent players with years of experience from the stage and the studio.
The digital version of this release includes the bonus track “The Way Down”. The version will be available as digi-pack.

Im Jahr 2006 aus der Asche der von Seiten ihrer Kritiker und Fans gefeierten ‘Green Dollar Colour’ geboren und von dem australischem Singer/Songwriter Lex Koritni gegründet gewinnen KORITNI Jahr für Jahr kontinuierlich an Ansehen und Einfluss in der internationalen Rockszene.
Hierzulande noch weitestgehend unbekannt werden KORITNI im September dieses Jahres die deutsche Rocklandschaft so richtig aufmischen.
Im Frühjahr 2006 legten sie als Opener für die Scorpions direkt mit einer Tour in Frankreich und Belgien los und setzen 2007 mit ihrem Debut “Lady Luck” ein klares Statement, das von der europäischen Presse begeistert begrüßt wurde.
Nach zahlreichen Tourneen, die KORITNI zunächst als Vorgruppe bestritten, bewiesen sie sich später mit Songs wie “Game Of Fools” (2009) und “Welcome To The Crossroads” (2012) als Headliner in der internationalen Rockszene. Durch die gemeinsame Arbeit mit dem weltbekannten Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Van Halen), konnten Lex und seine Jungs ihre Fanbase stetig erweitern. Mit von der Partie waren zudem illustre Gäste wie Jeff Scott Soto oder Jeff Waters (Annihilator).
Live beeindruckt KORITNI mit richtigen Powerauftritten, weshalb es nicht überrascht, dass das Quintett in Europa schon mehr als hundert Shows gespielt hat, darunter auch die angesagtesten Festivals wie Master At Rock, Freewheels oder Hellfest in Frankreich. Mittlerweile können sie auf zahlreiche gemeinsame Shows mit (Hard) Rock Legenden wie Motörhead, Status Quo, Mötley Crüe, the Scorpions, Beth Hart oder Wishbone Ash zuückblicken.
NIGHT GOES ON FOR DAYS – Erscheint am 4. September 2015 bei earMUSIC
“Night Goes On For Days" ist das 4. Studioalbum der Band. Erneut von Lex Koritni produziert, wurde es von dem legendärem Produzenten/Mixer Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Joe Bonamassa...) gemixt und von Ryan Smith (AC/DC, Guns N' Roses...) gemastert.
Als große Ehre für die Band wurde der Song “Water Of Life” vom legendären Schlagzeuger John Coghlan von Status Quo im Studio eingespielt (als sein erstes Studiorecording seit 1985).
Das Coverartwork für dieses Stück Rock’n’Roll-Geschichte wurde wieder einmal vom legendären Mark Wilkinson (Iron Maiden, The Darkness, Judas Priest) designt.
Der gereifte Sound dieses neuen Werks stellt die pure Energie der Band vortrefflich zur Schau – gestählt durch extensives Touren, verstärkt durch musikalische Überzeugung (beides führte zum stilsicheren Einsatz von Akustikgitarren) und untermauert durch dasselbe Recording Line Up vom ersten Tag an.

Der Album Titel ist Programm! Diese Band wird sich ihren Weg bahnen: das hört man von der ersten Minute an! Ein wildes Rock-Feuerwerk an Retro-, Blues-, Indie - und Garage-Elementen kommt so ungeschliffen und kraftvoll daher, dass man einfach nicht anders kann als „Motor an und Abfeiern!“ „Folks along the main route couldn´t make me stay“ heißt es gleich in der zweiten Zeile des Titelsongs. Da wird nicht auf Mainstream gebaut oder nach Airplay geschielt! Aber Achtung, denn so ziemlich jeder einzelne Song besticht mit catchy Hooks, die sich, wie auch die markante, kräftige Lead-Stimme von Ingo Siara, in den Gehörgängen festhaken. Zwölf Eigenkompositionen voller Leidenschaft und Spielfreude enthält das Debutalbum des Berliner Quartetts (alle Anfang zwanzig), das seine bei Liveauftritten beinahe schon überbordende Vitalität auch mit ins Studio genommen hat. Der Sound erinnert an Jet sowie dem „guten alten“ Rock der 60er und 70er Jahre. Allerdings drücken The Wake Woods ihm saufrech ihren eigenen, energiegeladenen Stil auf – frisch, direkt und voller Adrenalin. Als Zuhörer wünscht man sich fast eine Art „Woodstock Reloaded“ herbei, um diesem ungebändigten Rock’n’Roll in einer schweißtreibenden Schlammparty zu huldigen.“
